Marriages, Mergers &
Mishaps: Performances: Fri.,
June 10th at 8pm;
The Brewster Theater Company (BTC) announces its presentation of "Marriages, Mergers and Mishaps." The production is brimming with passion, wit and wistfulness through a series of eight provocatively charged vignettes featuring the "hits and misses" of male/female communication. The show opens at 8PM on Friday and Saturday, June 10th and 11th and at 7PM on Sunday, June 12th at the St. Andrew's Church Hall in Brewster. "This show really surfaces the true value of Community Theater," said Margaret Carey, director and BTC Vice President. "Aside from fun and entertainment, I wanted to present a production that was accessible to a wide audience and also created opportunities for our members, new actors and busy theater aficionados to take the stage. Performing in a 10-minute vignette doesn’t require an unreasonable amount of rehearsal time, so more people get to participate." Engagements, old flames, missed opportunities and passionate encounters are featured in the plays:
The director, Margaret Carey, also directed BTC's 2004 evening of one acts entitled "Interaction & Attractions." "Marriages…" impressive 18-member cast hales from Putnam, Westchester and Fairfield Counties. The talented performers include Chris Cain, Pearse Columb, Michelle Cottle, Joe Efferen, Lori Franzese, Kip Jones, Lisa Kaslyn-Henderson, Lizzie Loomis, Gary McNerney, Annabelle Meunier, Cathy Morris, Annie Murcko, Valerie Murphy, Patricia Ann Reese, Jay Reiner, John Schlick, Paul Stein and Nancy Villa.
